Lawn Care

The dandelions know when you’ve been dancing alone
And the dandelions know how to muffle heavy moans.

The dandelions’ teeth grin white with sweet relief
And the dandelions’ teeth sink in deep to simmering meat.

The dandelions’ claws scratch your shin bones ’till they’re raw
And the dandelions’ claws they never slow, never pause.

The dandelions’ laugh stuns sick yellow all the grass
And the dandelions laugh at those bodies in the path.

Yes, the dandelions know where you’ve been dancing alone.
Yes, the dandelions know how you’ll suffer as you grow.
