Monday Once Again
Here we are. Another Monday morning in suburbia. Preparing for the office. Here I are. Another Monday morning in my underwear. Preparing to sip more coffee - and go to the office. I'm writing from home this morning because I imagine work will be entirely too busy from whence to blog.
This weekend was a relaxing one. The main event was yesterday afternoon's visit to the KC Ethnic Enrichment Festival. The EE Commission converts a large field in Swope Park into a good-sized tent city, each tent representative of one of the many ethnicities that make up the KC population. The best part of the fest is that in addition to the multitude of ethnicities behind the tents there is also a very diverse crowd of people attending the festival. In KC, you don't often see such a wide variety of color and accents gathered together in one spot as the city is (much to our dismay) still a fairly segregated place, especially in comparison to some of our closer neighbors (St. Louis, in particular).

The bad part of the fest is upon walking in and getting your schedule of events you notice that written upon the schedule is a suggestion to "Eat Your Way Around The World!" Now that's something that most Kansas Citians definitely do not need to hear.
Check my flog for other photographic highlights. (Most of the photos are of the good parts - not of people eating their way around the world, although Sa Rah did snap some damned good ones of me decimating a bratwurst.)
