National Poetry Writing Month - Day 23
You talk about things that nobody cares
You keep telling me to live right
To go to bed before daylight
You’re wearing out things that nobody wears
But then you wake up for the sunrise
You know you don’t gotta pretend
You’re calling my name but I gotta make clear
I take my whiskey neat
Sweet emotion
You’re too sweet for me
You’re too sweet for me
Baby, now and then
You stand in the front just a shakin’ your ass
Don’t you just wanna wake up
Smelling like a bonfire
I take my whiskey neat
Sweet emotion
You’re too sweet for me
You’re too sweet for me
Sweet emotion
You’re too sweet for me
