National Poetry Writing Month - Day 5
The palm frond,
the ocean breath,
the shadow flame,
the opinion den,
the black glass,
the twelve-eyed serpent,
the song in ruin,
the heart rose bloom.
Six winds,
mountain whisper,
aluminum sky,
earth earth earth,
an unbond.
A crownless king,
a leafless beast,
suspicious dreams,
iron rivers,
emerald veil,
oh, emerald veil.
Two lovers and their tongues,
One, grey ash, the other, great storm.
Their love: a bridge of thorns.
Their hearts: treasured disorder.
The emerald veil,
the world on edge,
ocean’s breath,
feathered wolf,
black black sun,
seven hollow children
ringing seven broken bells.
The guardian eyes
our glued bones.
The night vessel flees
a pugnacious past.
A mirror of stars.
Truth wears a Woe mask.
We, the dawn.
Our souls, the salt and the dirt.
This is our doom:
twin salvations:
ivory blade and
gold thread.
We unremembered.
The keys to
heaven’s gates.
